This post is a full-time, permanent position

Band 1, 2 & 3 (dependent on experience) + TLR 2a (£2873)

The Governors would like to appoint an outstanding and inspirational teacher to join our excellent team of dedicated staff, committed to ensuring the highest standards and best learning opportunities for the pupils of Brook Acre.  This post is suitable for existing senior leaders, teachers with previous experience of senior leadership or experienced teachers looking to progress to a leadership role.

Brook Acre is a school moving from strength to strength with a tangible buzz for improvement throughout each key stage.  This is an exciting time for our school and a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join our team in developing the quality of provision we offer to ensure each child is provided with outstanding opportunities to move their learning forward.

We are looking for the right candidate to demonstrate outstanding teaching practice to join a dedicated team of teaching and support staff, building on sound starting points to offer excellent progress for all.  The key stage/year group assigned to the teaching post will be based on experience and interests of the successful candidate, with flexibility to appoint to any of the key stages.  Please state key stage/year group preferences within your letter of application.

Due to a change in the school’s staffing structure, the Governors have agreed to the recruitment of a new leader offering a TLR 2a post with initial responsibility for improving standards in English. This role would include monitoring, coaching, support and guidance for teachers across school in order to improve standards and raise pupil outcomes, particularly in writing.  

Please state English practice, leadership experience and specific areas of interest and expertise within your letter of application.

  • Excellent teaching using a wide range of teaching methods to motivate and inspire learners;
  • A sound understanding of learning at primary level and with strong subject knowledge in key stages/year groups of key interest;

  • The ability to work effectively and contribute positively within a team environment;
  • High expectations for the attitudes and behaviour of everyone;
  • The ability to reflect on their own practice, embracing change and striving for improvement.

Teaching Assistant, Level 2 Grade 4 (scale point 10-13)

Please note that a Level 3, Grade 5, post could be offered to the right applicant

12 month fixed term contract (initially, with the potential of this being extended), commencing 1 April, or sooner if possible.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking staff, working initially within our EYFS to nurture, target and enable our children to thrive.

  • Holds relevant qualifications at the level applied for, or higher;
  • Promotes inclusion and acceptance of all pupils;
  • Establishes good working relationships with pupils and with parents, acting as a positive role model for all;
  • Demonstrates a commitment to raising standards, with a genuine belief that every child can achieve and thrive;
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively, and contribute positively, within a team environment;
  • Shows high expectations for the attitudes and behaviour of everyone;
  • Has a passion for improving the life chances of children and for impacting positively on pupil outcomes.

A specialist interest or previous training in Speech, Language and Communication is desirable, though not essential for this role.
