Charity Fundraising Events and Awareness
On this page you can find past events that have taken place at Brook Acre. We often hold fundraising events or awareness days as an integral part of our school curriculum. Through our curriculum values, we develop a thirst for helping others and are exceptionally proud of the work of our school community that makes a real difference through the fundraising work we do.
Race for Life
My Story
Our school is proud to be a place where we listen to, consider and where appropriate act upon the views, ideas and suggestions of staff, parents, carers and children. With this in mind, school council have been working hard to support their charity of the year, Cancer Research UK. Families are invited to Brook Acre to interact with children and staff, including loved ones to lunch sessions, charity days and reading sessions. They are encouraged to talk about cancer awareness, the importance of screening and having health concerns checked out. We recently held a Bake Off event to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and following on from this success, we are now holding a Race for Life event on Wednesday 17 May at school to raise vital funds for research. Children and staff will be running, jogging or walking a course around the school grounds. Sponsorship forms are available from the school. We hope to raise £500.00. Please help us to reach this target or even better raise more.
All monies raised will stay locally to help fund research. You may send your sponsorship money/donations via the super team pagethat we have set up directly to Cancer Research UK via the link below:
