Welcome to Year 6S

In Year 6S, our teacher is Mr Stansfield and our teaching assistant is Mrs Wilshere.

We are a class of 22 children who always strive to work hard and be independent learners.
Our learning journey in Autumn will be looking at The Battle of Britain and how this was a turning point in British History.  We are looking forward to themed days and visits relating to our learning journey.

We will be exploring the curriculum in different ways and applying lots of skills in various lessons.

General information

Our PE days this half term are Tuesday and Thursday so please make sure that your kits are in school! Homework will be given out on a Friday and is due back the following Thursday. If you need any help, please ask and we will go through it with you.

Please make sure you read at least 4 pages, or a chapter at a time, at least 3 times a week. Record in your reading record about your main characters: What are they like? What do they do? When you have finished your story, recall what has happened in a few short sentences. Children will use Reading Plus during lesson time but don’t forget you can log on at home and this will count towards your home learning.

We have been working with Miss Edwards from University Academy during our PE lessons and have enjoyed using their sports hall for our badminton lessons. We are looking forward to starting gymnastics this week.
