Remote Learning
Here is where you will find out all about our remote learning at Brook Acre Primary School.
What is the Remote Learning offer at Brook Acre?
Expectations
As you are aware, the government has provided guidance to schools about the expectation of children in primary schools having a minimum of 3-4 hours of work set each day. Our staff will be recording each day online engagement and phoning those families where children have not logged in at the start of the school day.
If your child is in Yr 2 - 6 then they will access their learning through Office 365. We are have been working on training the children to use this platform throughout the Autumn Term. If you have any problems then please contact school and we will help. As well as Office 365, the children may also use Reading Plus, Reading Eggs/Eggspress, TT Rockstars and Spelling Shed. All the login details and passwords for these sites are in your child's reading record. If you can't find them or need a reminder then please ring the school office and they can tell you your child's details. Office 365 login will be in the form of an email address using your child's name e.g. JoeBloggs@brookacre.co.uk
If your child in in FS1 - Y1 then they will access their learning through the Tapestry app or the VLE (which is accessed through the school website). If you have any problems then please contact school and we will help. As well as the VLE, the children may also use Reading Eggs/Eggspress and Numbots. Your child's teacher will have sent all login details home already with your child. If you can't find them or need a reminder then please ring the school office and they can tell you your child's details.
If your child can view their work on Office 365 or the VLE but is struggling to complete the work online for any reason then please contact school for an exercise book. Your child can then complete their work in the exercise book and take a photo and upload this to Office 365 or the VLE so their class teacher can see what they have done!
Helping Get Your Child Online
Here are some useful guides to help you get your child logged on at home with Office 365 and the VLE.
Here is a helpful guide about how to access Office 365 using a kindle NB you will not be able to access Teams using a kindle but you would be able to access Outlook email using this method. This means your class teacher will be able to send your work this way.
If you don't have any other device that you can access either Office 365 or the VLE on then why not try using your PS4 or XBOX ONE??
