Welcome to Year 3

Our teacher in Y3 is Mrs O'Brien and our teaching assistant is Miss Cliffe.

In Year 3 we enjoy learning and having fun!  We have lots of exciting trips, visits and events planned throughout the year.  Our first learning journey is going to be 'Y3 Rocks'.  This history based learning journey will focus on the lives of early men and women, how they survived and the tools they used.  The children will explore the different areas of the curriculum linked to this, for example; during geography they will look at how the global continents have changed, in science they will look at the formation of different rocks and their uses and in art, create cave paintings using charcoal.

Homework and Reading

Year 3 homework is sent home every Friday and parents are invited to engage with the children's learning at home to prepare children for the following week in school. Homework is collected in and marked on a Thursday in order for children to sign up for Friday treat time.

Children are also expected to read at least 3 times a week at home and we enjoy reading parents comments about their children's reading at home.  Children must also remember to practise their spellings and metal mathematics.
